Children will learn about First Nations heritage and culture from Walbunja artist Toni Hill before weaving items such as bracelets, small wall hangings and baskets using native grasses and emu feathers. Each child will create their own unique piece to take home.
Toni uses weaving as a form of quiet relaxation to look after her well-being. Traditional weaving knowledge and skills were passed down to Toni from her Aunty Deidre at Mummaga Lake on Yuin Country.
Our land, our people, our spiritual world is connected by our First Nation community passing their knowledge, skills and stories onto all peoples so that it is not forgotten.
