Tantawangalo based painter Kim Falkenmire relocates her studio to SECCA this summer. Presenting new works, Falkenmire continues her exploration of the landscape practice she is well known for.

Kim Falkenmire is a longtime resident of the Bega Valley, on the far South Coast of New South Wales Australia and has been involved with music and art events in the region for many years.

Her work is largely semi-abstracted landscape, always attempting to catch the ephemeral nature of light and air and the movement of water. Trees abstracted by nature, solitary and grouped, sitting unobtrusively in the massive expanse of penetrating skies are a common subject.

Kim studied at the National Art School Sydney and worked in-house and freelance as a book designer and typographer for publishers in Sydney, Melbourne and Canberra, resuming an art practice in 2005 primarily in painting.
