About the Any Year Diary Poem:
Recording the movements of or within or through the bush in Brogo at the base of Biamanga, Nick started writing the Any Year Diary Poem on January 1 2019. Sections of the poem drawn onto ceramic pieces built by Sierra McManus were exhibited at the Bega Valley Regional Gallery Motel Art Fair in 2022. As part of this exhibtion, Nick made a cardboard television and, on the Poetry TV Channel, read the entirety of the poem up to the date of reading, which Sam recorded on video. Since then Sam and Nick have read and filmed the poem in different situations mainly around the places Nick documents. An initial edit of Sam’s film was screened at Turkey Rhubarb (the 2023 Brogo Poetry Symposium), projected onto the front of Nick’s mazDa 3.
